Meet our team

Our illustrious leader has been in the motor trade all his life. Having set up his own businesses back in 2007, following a successful career in a large PLC.
Mercia Motors on Abbeydale Road was established by Greg in 2011, supplying quality used vehicles and developing the growing Bosch Car Service department.
Greg then purchased the current Mercia Motors site at Meadowhead, where with the support of his great team, some new team members plus the local community; the business is continuing to grow day by day.
Greg loves travelling, socialising & networking – this includes regular Padel and golf matches.

We have been lucky to have Simone with us since 2014, having previously worked at a local nursery.
She is efficient and articulate in everything she does and an invaluable team member who deals with all the administrative tasks including banking and accounts.
She was blessed with beautiful Ocean in 2023, who regularly pops in to say hello. Her spare time also involves family trips to their caravan in Skegness with the odd Chinese meal added in!

Dave has been in the motor trade and has 40 years experience, he been an integral part of our service department for nearly 15 years. The department is lucky to have Dave’s perfect attention to detail, especially when ordering and controlling all the necessary parts. His fantastic customer service skills have been mentioned in our Google Reviews on many occasions.

Wayne has been working with us from the very start of Mercia Motors opening in 2011.
He is a very genuine, loyal and hardworking team member and doesn’t seem to stop at any point during the working day.
His role has diversified since our move to Meadowhead to involve daily collections and deliveries within the local area, offering a personal and unrivalled service.
He specialises in our very popular wash and vacs that he carries out on a daily basis.
Wayne is a keen snooker player who plays for a local team. Following Motor Sport is another passion.

Jenni has a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning her whole career. Job roles ranging from Auctioneer to prestige corporate main dealer business development. She moved from Norfolk 7 years ago, so some customers’ find her accent very different.
She is professional and driven and is pleased to promote and increase awareness of the great services we offer which is backed up by our brilliant team.
Personally, Jenni loves to be by the beach, walking her 3 year old Labrador, Cooper and socialising

Ryan, who has also relocated from Norfolk is responsible for the day to day operation of the business. His skills as service manager has excelled during his 6 years at Mercia Motors following his insight into the sales department he has re-joined the service arena where he really makes a difference.
He manages the department and it’s team members in a highly efficient, honest and calm manner going the extra mile to satisfy every customer.
At home he cares for 2 beautiful rabbits, he loves traveling and showcasing his beloved Nissan GTR at car meets and shows.

Pete is a great team player and asset to our independent business. Originally employed to work within the valeting department, he has trained hard to learn new skills and pushed his personal development within the workshop. In his leisure time, he spends time with his gorgeous grandchildren and takes regular visits to the local pub

Dan brings with him a vast experience covering 30 years, having been based at Mercia 2, Meadowhead for 20 years. He specialises in diagnostic checks and fault finding. His investigation skills are outstanding, he’s our real ‘go to’ guy.

In his spare time Dan enjoys reading and running marathons. He even fixes cars on his days off he loves them so much!!

Jamie has 20 years experience, 19 years of that time has been spent at Mercia 2, Meadowhead. He has also been an MOT tester for 6 years.

He’s a strong team member who is keen to help out in many areas of the service department. Jamie specialises in clutches, suspension, timing chains/belts and brakes.

Out of work he spends his time travelling with his girls to dancing festivals and staying in his family caravan in Skegness.

We are very lucky to have such an experienced technician on our team. He has been working in the industry for over 34 years, working at Mercia 2, Meadowhead for 33 years and has been an MOT tester in Sheffield for 20 years.

He’s a lively team member who is a general all-rounder, repairing suspension components, cambelts and in depth engine repairs; he can even weld!!

Rob loves socialising and drinking, he does the odd piece of woodwork and can tell great jokes (although some may need to be censored!!)

Brooklyn joined us in late 2023 as our new Bosch apprentice Technician. He is keen to learn the trade to the highest standard and is improving everyday he is here with us. He loves going to the Gym in his free time and going out with friends at the weekend.

Cooper, the silky black Labrador is a valued team member and has been with us since being a puppy. He’s nearly 4 years old and has the temperament of a furry angel. He meets and greets every customer, parts delivery driver and visitor with a smile. Although he only works part time, he does put in a good ‘shift’ when on the service reception and earns his treats.

Cooper is brilliant with other dogs and children too, ensuring everyone has the perfect Mercia welcome, backed up with great customer service.

In his spare time, he loves walking in parks & beaches whilst chasing the ball, boating with his doggy life jacket on, plus he goes to the pub regularly, where everyone has to stroke him and say hello, but is favourite pass time is eating!! He loves cheese, steak, chicken and bacon.
